 Amina Shade - New Me kiwanis international CONGRATULATIONS KIWANIANS Kiwanis Playground at Olsen Park Campaign Completed Two years ago the Kiwanis Club of Wilmington entered into a partnership with the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County to build a playground at Olsen Park, which is the site of a new baseball/softball complex. This playground will be accessible to all children, including those with disabilities, and will be the first all-inclusive playground in our region. The planned 10,000 square foot playground has an enticing colorful layout with a variety of swings, slides, activity panels, play stations and climbing equipment and will be adjacent to the future Miracle League Field. The Kiwanis Club's campaign to raise $75,000 has now been realized. At the City Council meeting on February 21, 2012, our club formally presented the city with the funds we promised. The City and County are matching these funds and the Wilmington Miracle League is raising an additional $150,000 for the playground project. We look forward to construction of this unique facility later this year. Thank you for helping us to serve the children of the world, one child and one community at a time.
