Wilmington Kiwanis Club currently sponsors 2 Key Clubs. Key Clubs are designed to teach high school kids about the value of community service and to focus them on the positives surrounding them. Key Clubs get kids involved with many community service activities. Many Key Clubbers go on to leadership positions in the Key Club organization and assume leadership positions in other organizations and communities later in life. Typically, we donate about $1,500 to support our Key Clubs at New Hanover & Hoggard High Schools.
We also sponsor and financially support a Circle K(CKI) program at UNC Wilmington. CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world. Projects such as the Six Cents Initiative, CKI’s International fundraiser that aims to provide water to the 2.2 billion children wordwide who lack safe drinking water, bring CKI members together to make a difference in the world.
